Deforestation in the Amazon
Deforestation is a major issue in the Amazon. People often cut down trees in the rainforest in order to create more land to be used for farming. This is a faulty plan though, because the soil in the rainforest is not very fertile and will only be able to harvest crops for about three years. or one thing, it destroys the natural habitat of the animals living in the rainforest, some of which are found only in the rainforest such as the capybara and poison arrow frog. This will offset the balance of the ecosystem, which can be very dangerous to the stability of our planet. Not only does deforestation affect ecosystems, it also affects the health of the planet as a whole by decreasing the amount of oxygen emitted by the trees and in turn increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in the world and aiding global warming.
